Unable to login to MF279 Device
I am not able to login to the MF279. I use the attadmin user name and the login page asks for a password. I don't have a password for this device and all the documentation does not mention needing a password. Can you help me with a password or resetting the password? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this screenshot with us, @Randy_McKean.
There should be a Wi-Fi network password found on the bottom of your AT&T Wireless Internet device. Your User Manual shows you exactly where to locate it. Please try entering this password into the AWI Manager site to see if this grants you access.
Once you're logged in, you can follow the steps listed below to change your password:

Yes, I have no problem with the login ID. It is the password that I don't know. The page asks for a login ID and a password - I don't have a password for it and don't know how to recover it or reset it. I never had a password and didn't need one in the past; this has to be a new feature added by AT&T.

We'll be happy to help you log into your MF279 @Randy_McKean.
We'd suggest restoring your device to its factory settings. Remove the bottom cover of your AT&T Wireless Internet, then press and hold the RESET button for 10 seconds using a pen or paperclip. After reconnecting your computer to the network, visit http://att.wirelessinternet then enter the default admin login (attadmin) and click Login.
If the request for a password persists, please provide us a screenshot of what you see so we can proceed from there.

Okay, I was able to log on using a tablet device. Apparently, it was trying to connect to my internet router when I was trying to log on using my main computer.

I was able to get logged on, but when I go to AT&T Software Update, all I get is the spinning wheel, then after a while, it times out. The firmware version I have is MF279V1.7 and I see there is an updated version, V1.11; after doing some research online, I see that V1.7 has some security flaws. Is there any way you can push the new version to my device, or have one of your technicians do it? Please let me know if you can get this done or not. Thanks!

Hi @Randy_McKean! Let's meet in a Direct Message (DM) to discuss updating the software on your device.
Please check your Direct Message Inbox for a message being sent to you. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums page.
In the meantime, please edit your post to remove your device's IMEI and SIM card ICCID from public view. This request is for security reasons. We don't want any information that identifies your device or can be linked to your device to be exploited.
Also, looking at your screen shot from a couple of days ago, it is advised that you close out all the opened tabs in your browser then reopen the browser before you try to update your device:
To update the software
Note: Your login can be found on the bottom of your AT&T Wireless Internet.
Keeping more than a few tabs open at the same time eats up your computer's memory and makes everything, especially the browser itself, run slower and can affect performance.
Sometimes keeping many tabs open can crash the browser itself. Closing all the tabs then reopening the browser can give your browser a fresh start and help connect you to websites you weren't able to open before.
It may even help to try accessing the http://att.wirelessinternet from a private browser. Remember to watch out for the message in your DM. We want to reach a resolution with your current experience.

I have gone through all the steps you outline. I am logged in to the AT&T account from a Windows tablet that has no other connections to the Internet. I can access AT&T Software Update, but when I use it, I just get a rotating graphic in a window, with the message "Checking for Updates ..." and then it times out after a few minutes. And, how do I access Direct Message?
