Turbo Hotspot 2 in Mexico

Anyone else having problems getting the Turbo Hotspot 2 to work in Mexico?  If I move the SIM to an unlocked phone it works but not in the Turbo Hotspot 2.  It did work OK in the  US.

What plan do you have? A hotspot data only plan probably doesn’t include Mexico usage. Prepaid data only plans definitely don’t include Mexico.

It is the Cricket Simply Data 100GB plan and Cricket advertises that the Turbo Hotspot 2 is the one device they support.  If i move the SIM to an unlocked phone it does work, just not on the one device that was advertised as being supported.  It uses the AT&T network in Mexico.  I can send SMS messages to the Turbo Hotspot 2, just no internet service.  The only reason I bought the package and device was for when I am residing in Mexico.  Thanks.

Let us help you get your Turbo Hotspot 2 connected. @markdoore

As mentioned by @sandblaster First, you will need to be sure to subscribe to a AT&T data-only plan. To manage your Wireless Internet account, simply sign in to myAT&T.

Afterwards, follow these steps to set up your mobile hotspot which include inserting the SIM card.

Give this a try and let us know how this worked for you! If your experience persist despite these steps reach back and let us know what happens when you're trying to connect.

Make sure to include details about whether you're encountering an error message when trying to use or set up service.

Sorry, I have no idea if that Cricket plan should work in Mexico. This is an ATT forum, not Cricket. Even though ATT owns Cricket, Cricket is a different carrier. You need to contact Cricket to see if that data plan is supposed to work in Mexico. You can ignore ATTHelp’s response, they clearly don’t understand your issue.
