New Nokia Femtocell - configuration

After learning the trick to put the address in all CAPS I finally got the Nokia to activate.  The issue is I can't seem to add users to it.   I go to https://www.att.com/3gmicrocell/banSelection.do and find my cell phone numbers on the account, click it, click continue and it takes me right back to the same page.  The previous microcell had a page where I could enter approved cell numbers.  How do you do that with this unit?

Also, my previous microcell had mCell in the signal area on the iphone - but this does not show up on my phone with the new unit.

I have rebooted my phone, etc. and can't seem to get to the next step.

Hi there, talben1! We would love to help you add users to your cell booster.

First of all, thank you for posting about your activation resolution. We appreciate it.

Second of all, to add users to your cell booster, you can download the AT&T Cell Booster App from your applicable app store, or you can scan the QR Code on the box that the cell booster came in.

You can use these instructions to help you for the website:

  1. Select the Cell Booster device under the Home Page by clicking the right arrow
  2. Once selected, select Admin List under Device Details
  3. Click the blue + sign to add an admin
  4. Fill out the following fields:
    • Login ID - this is the myAT&T Username that users will use to sign into the app/portal
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Phone Number
    • Contact Email
  5. Recommend to the customer to have SMS and Email Notification turned On > click Save

If there is anything else that we can do for you, please come on back.

Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

I was not referring to adding admin users to the device - the previous microcells had list of cell numbers that were authorized to use it.

@talben1 The Cell Booster is an open system now in that there is no way to add/delete specific phone numbers for access. Any AT&T cell phone, if within range and one that meets the 4G/LTE requirements can access the Cell Booster. There is no way of knowing who is accessing it or not. The connection to AT&T is encrypted and secure and access to your home network is not likely. There is also no alpha tag on the phone (like AT&T M-Cell for example) so there is no way for someone to know what they are connected to (the femtocell or a local tower).

The instructions that ATTHelp gave above is just for adding another Admin to your Cell Booster which will give them Admin access to your Cell Booster to make User changes etc. It is not the same as what you were able to do to with the MicroCell. IOW, only the Admin could add/delete names/phone numbers. The above method will allow anyone to do that. And, you are still limited to 8 users.

Hi there, talben1

Our Ace, @OttoPylot is absolutely correct. Thank you for all that you do for AT&T Community. Your knowledge is top notch.

Like our Ace said, the cell booster is an open system, so anyone can use it, but the Admins can control it.

Thank you for using the AT&T Community Forums.

that seems insane - that means anyone close enough can connect their phone to my braodband and use as much bandwidth as they want - you might even charge them for it!  meanwhile I pay for the bandwidth and they do who knows what while using my braodband? ??   thats crazy

@lowgrade  As far as cellular data goes, that will be counted against the account of the connected cell phone, not your cellular account. However, the data that crosses your internet connection will be counted a data against your internet plan.

As I mentioned in my reply to your other post, you should read thru my Tech Guide. The link is in my sig line.
