moto 8 g power- no mobile data

got a moto 8g power few months ago. everything worked marvelously... until i gave att my new imei#.. was trying to do a hotspot, so called 611 and gave them the new imei, only to be told afterwards that my current plan doesnt allow. ever since then, i cant use mobile data or send pics. have exhausted all troubleshooting options w/ them.. now they say that its a problem with "the phone" and need to purchase new one directly from them.. 

How come "the phone" worked fine until they updated it in their system?????

Thank you for reaching out. We'd love to help with this. Did the other agents have your change the APN settings? If not, do this:

 

  1. Go into Settings.
  2. Choose either Wireless & Networks, More Networks, or Connections.
  3. Tap Mobile Networks, then Access Point Names.
  4. Find and select the option to add a new APN. This is usually accessed by + on the screen or by tapping the menu button.
  5. Program each field using the settings found in the table listed through the preceding link under Android devices' data settings.
  6. Save your changes to return to the APN's menu and choose the new APN.

If your Moto still isn't connecting to data, restart it. Let us know if that does the trick. Also, let us know which plan your device is on and whether it's a prepaid or postpaid plan.
