How do I activate a SIM device with my phone number?

I tried to activate the SIM device online but then it assigned a new number so I had to cancel it. I don't want to reactivate service because I'm concerned that it will only activate a lost phone. My husband won't let me use his phone because it recognizes his number and uses his account. I can't call to 611 or anywhere. I do not have access to any other phone during the work day.

This sounds like prepaid. To activate a prepaid SIM card with an existing number, you need to call. If you activate online, you will get a new number assigned.

Hello @Grad0507, allow us to help with activating your SIM card and/or device.

You'll need to visit our AT&T activation portal online in order to activate your device with us. You have options to choose whether you need to activate a device or SIM card.

Also to better assist, we'll need to confirm a few details:

  • What's the make and model of the device your needing to activate and what AT&T plan are you activating it with?
  • How long was the phone number you're needing to activate, deactivated from the account? As this number may no longer be available.

Feel free to reach back out and let us know the following!
