Number is attached to a different username

When I look up my username using my phone number it is not the username my phone number is linked to. How do I find out what username is linked to my phone number.

Hey there @Darkriot1981, we understand the importance of your number being listed under your own account, and we'll be happy to help with this.

 

For starters, we recommend you double-check your User ID to make sure it hasn't been changed, and see if you can still see the numbers listed under your ID. This will let us know if the number is on your account or not. 


We'd also like more context about what happened, as we want to be sure your account is safe. Once we have a better scope of what happened, we'll be able to better explore our next steps. Please share more information about this, along with the answers for the following questions:

  • Did you get this phone from a third-party, such as a reseller or a friend? If so, this may be the old account holder's information that is still tied to the device. 
  • Are you the only person on the account? Another user might have made these changes. 

Please share the information with us, so we can continue to look into this.

Bought this iphone13promax directly from att retail store brand new and no one else should have my number or cloud login information.

My numbersync is also attached to a ZTE velocity hotspot device. I have reset to factory settings and contacted apple support. I keep getting directed to contact att for a solution.

I used the forgot id and used my phone number to locate user id to log into my att account, in account settings no number is used d, so I tried to add it. Which is when it comes up with the error number is used with another user id.

My parents are on the account but I am the only one who logs in, they go to the retail store to do anything with their phones.
