Roaming in South Africa

I am changing over from pre-paid to post paid - wireless starter because it seems prepaid wont roam.

Will I automatically receive texts and calls and roam on a network in South Africa with a post ATT paid plan?

It's possible to roam in your current location, @SouthAfrica!

Let's look into that for you! While your phone will automatically search for a network to connect once the feature is enabled on your phone under an AT&T Postpaid plan, we recommend adding an International Calling & Data plan so you can stay connected (on a predictable daily fee) when traveling outside the U.S.

Our most popular plan is AT&T International Day Pass. Among the advantages of signing up are:

  • Simple - One-time enrollment process with no monthly charge
  • Flexible - One low daily fee only charged when there is usage in an included country.
  • Predictable - Know what you are charged when using AT&T IDP in an included country. Pay no more than 10 daily fees per bill cycle for each line.
  • Unlimited - Talk and text all they want.
  • Domestic Data - Use your domestic data plan internationally without paying additional data roaming fees.
  • Comprehensive - Relax, we have got you covered. IDP is now available in over 210 countries.

Add or remove the feature at any time by signing in, or by calling 800.335.4685 in the U.S. or 1.314.925.6925 while overseas.

Give this a try and let us know how it worked!
