Bad 4G LTE service
I live in NJ at the 08812-zip code. I currently subscribe to the Premium service AT&T has to offer. However, this area has 3 nearby towers. One in Plainfield 4G only (bad service tower btw), 1 in Green Brook 4G/5G and another in Dunellen 4G/5G. My home is in the Green Brook area, and I only get the 4G service. My download speeds while outside of the home are less than 45Mbps and inside the home are anywhere between 9Mbps to 16Mbps. My phone is not a 5G device, but I am able to connect to the 5GE service when in areas that provide it. I have only been able to see these connections in Jersey City or New York. No where near my home or in any of the 2 mentioned 5G towers. When I have tested the download speeds from the 5GE service. The download speeds are nowhere near 100Mbps. I believe last time I checked. It was about 70Mbps. Comparing my unlimited service plan to an out of country service. I have unlimited use even in international areas. For example, when I travel to Colombia and connect to one of their cell towers. I can average a good speed of about 50Mbps. I switch the SIM card to Movistar and I get a whopping 150Mbps download speed. This on their 4GLTE service. That is a big difference and why are we not getting the same speeds or better?? Now my complaint here in my area is that. Why are the nearby towers, specifically in my town. Am I not able to connect to the 5GE service or is it not available and why is the data speed so bad in the NJ? If a customer is paying for a Premium service and there are towers on the area that can provide quality service. Why are we not getting it? I did speak to an AT&T advisory, and they confirmed, my download speed should be at least 100Mbps, but we couldn't figure why the download speeds were so low. This is quite concerning because we are paying for a service that should provide quality service and not average. I like to know who I can submit this to or complaint to because this is not correct.

We found what the problem is. It is just plain bad service. The area that I live in. Does not have fast 4G LTE service. One mile away, the coverage in that area does give you 90Mbps+ download speeds. We tested it with a AT&T rep and even he was shocked that the service varied so much. It really (Edited per community guidelines) because I have been with AT&T for over 20 years and to see that they cannot provide the same service in that circumference. It's just plain sad. If it wasn't for the international plan they offer with the Unlimited Plan. I would cancel my service asap. My mom who is on T-Mobile 5G is getting 200Mbps+ I'm not sure what the speeds are like where I live for 5G, but the AT&T rep that I tested it with on his iPhone 5G only got less than 4Mbps. I'm not even kidding about that.
