Unlock pre pay phone
I have asked for my daughters SE to be unlocked so I can add her to our account. Phone has never been activated on any plan or prepay bought phone at WalMart she has just used it for wifi. Att denied my request, said had to have service with them 6months before they can unlock it!! I paid for the phone how is that right??

When you bought the prepaid phone at WalMart, it was a discounted price, not full retail, therefore it must be used on the AT&T prepaid network for 6 months before it is eligible for unlocking.

If the phone was sold for AT&T and you are using it on AT&T, or one of its mvno's it does not have to be unlocked.
It would only have to be unlocked to work on a competing carrier.
