Prepaid account cancelled; phone number lost; balance all gone; refund request refused, unacceptable!

My AT&T Prepaid account was cancelled on May 31st 2022 without any earlier notification. The expiration date is April 2023, just refilled $100 for the extension. The phone number was also lost by AT&T. All my balance ($721.84) are lost. Call the costumer services and stopped by the corporate stores many times, no progress so far. Got the final refuse message tonight by one support, not acceptable.

Also by following the instruction from one agent, to stop by the store in Hoboken (106 Washington St, Hoboken, NJ 07030) around 7PM, two employees refused to provide any service because they want to close the store earlier, although the close at 8PM is clearly marked in front of the door and listed on the website, it is terrible.

I could not figure out if I did anything wrong, if any, just trust the AT&T service. Not sure if there will be any progress by sending here, if not, I will try my best by all means from internet to remind any one who plan to use or who are using AT&T services, they need to pay more attention, otherwise they may have similar experience as me, pay the service but suddenly the service stops, all money are gone, it is absolutely cheating, not acceptable.

How I got to my conclusion was valid. To be more precise, I should have said "It seems their perspective..." so I could show that conclusion without sounding like speaking on their behalf. If you didn't hear or read anything in those 3 years about it, then that is unfortunate.

Their choice to hard shut off accounts instead of something temporary to allow you the option to last minute replace the phone, does not seem reasonable to me. But if it weren't legal, then those in authority would have stepped in long ago as this wasn't out of the blue.

As I've said, I don't like how it is handled. But I realize they did this all within their rights. The rules and regulations on this would need to be changed in the future to prevent such a situation the next time there is a network generation shutdown.

haha, u also realized ur tone is like AT&T, much progress. If u think large companies can always do things legally, then why we still need court, lawyers & regulators. But that can not happen until clients complaint about any unfair treatment, that is what I am doing now. Again, it is really funny if ur not a lawyer or regulator, how u assure they are doing within their rights? ur a judge or jury here? so funny today to talk with such funny guy who believe all his thinking is correct and all AT&T did are also.

Hi ! Based on your Prepaid cancellation concern, we want to get you in a Direct Message(DM). Check the message icon in the upper portion of the page and reply back!

In the meantime please keep in mind that:

  1. Customers were notified through text message, email and mail that they needed to replace their device to a compatible 4G/5G device and those who have not upgraded their 3G and non-VoLTE device to a supported 4G or 5G LTE phone on the AT&T network are in process of being cancelled.

Let us know if you have upgraded your device as this is required for service restoration within 30 days. If not, we'll be happy to help you upgrade your device and look into your account cancellation and refund request.

We look forward to speaking to you!

Oh, this is just funny to you? Sorry, thought you were serious about the discussion.

Well, if you think you are entitled to more than any other customer, then follow official routes. Otherwise, you are just throwing a tantrum at this point because the answer is not what you want.
