De-enroll my ACP Program benefit to my Prepaid AT&T phone

I want to de-enroll my ACP Program benefit from my Prepaid AT&T phone.  I cannot find the option to de-enroll online and need to apply this to a different intranet provider. I need assistance or a good contact number to help me cancel this program on my prepaid phone.  I've called customer service several times and no one has been able to help me.

Hello Paulandlin, let's get you de-enrolled from the ACP Program.

As mentioned by the ACE @formerlyknownas, you would just switch providers to get withdrawn from the program. AT&T does not determine eligibility to the Affordable Connectivity Program.

Let us know if this information helps, and thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.

Not how it's done.  You just switch providers.

@formerlyknownas lies.  I also can not use my ACP anywhere else because AT&T won't release it.  No other provider can activate service because the ACP benefit is shown as active with AT&T.  We are supposed to be able to change providers at any time, for any reason.  AT&T is hindering that process.  Customer support won't help.  I get a human who sends me to an automated voice menu loop of unrelated options.  In-store refuses to help at all.

Hello warp9pnt9, we're here to help with your de-enrollment concerns with ACP.

AT&T does not determine eligibility to the Affordable Connectivity Program.

Try contacting the Affordable Connectivity Program at the federal government’s National Verifier or call 877.384.2575 for de-enrollment questions.

You can also contact the program via website for further assistance.

We hope this information helps, and thank your for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

Who would initiate the benefit transfer?  Is it AT&T or the other provider I want to transfer my ACP benefits to?

Great question, @Paulandlin! We can help you to transfer your Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) benefits to your new provider.

You may transfer your ACP benefit to a new company. To transfer your benefit to another company, contact a company that offers ACP and ask them to transfer. For more information visit Affordable Connectivity Program.

A household may transfer the ACP benefit to another participating provider (or AT&T product) at any time. If transferred to another provider, the household no longer receives the benefit from AT&T (only one benefit is allowed per household).

We hope this information helps. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
