Anyone else unhappy with AT&T customer service?
Sent defective Motivate 2 to get replacement. I had to give them $90 that I would get back once they get phone back.
THEY SENT ME AN EMAIL SAYING THEY RECEIVED MY MOTIVATE 2.
Great. Waiting for my money to be refunded.
A few weeks later, they send me a box with a nasty looking Cricket flip phone saying I didn't send them a Motivate 2 so I am not getting my money back.
AT&T SENT ME AN EMAIL SAYING THEY GOT MY DEFECTIVE MOTIVATE 2. And now they are saying they didn't.
They either accidentally OR DELIBERATELY switched phones. I believe it was deliberate otherwise why send me an email saying you got the defective Motivate 2.
This has been going on since August 2022. I called. I sent proof via social media. I spoken to way too many customer service reps. This info is in their system. These (Edited per community guidelines) have me explain the situation and then tell me all they can do is give me 3 months service free. I WANT MY 90 BACK.
THIS IS A WARNING.
Going to send a letter to the place that sent a that nasty Cricket phone with proof they got the Motivate 2.
So (Edited per community guidelines) off, I may just do a small claims (Edited per community guidelines). It's the principle of the matter. They basically called me a swindler.

So you're saying that AT&T warranty kept your defective motivate 2 ( which is a cheap subsidized prepaid phone sells for $50-$100 new). This is either extremely Petty or this is the worst get rich quick scheme ever.
Let's think this out: Whoever has the phone does not have the $90 because AT&T has the $90 ( this is standard no matter what the phone is because you're a prepaid customer and you have no credit with AT&T. If This Were $1,000 phone, you would have to leave a $1,000 deposit to get a warranty replacement)
But you figure someone in the warranty department switched out the defective phone and then sent you back the flip phone.
More likely some genius in the Post office thought he was making a valuable switch. Only to find he's got a $50 lemon.
File a Better Business Bureau complaint online. The complaint is forwarded back to AT&T upper management and someone will call you.
