Logging into HBO Max on a Roku device with ATT account

First off, thanks for being here to help. I let my Roku subscription to HBO max expire because I got it email from AT&T saying HBO max was included in their service. I was able to choose that on my iPad but when I go into HBO max on my Roku device the only option I have are to restore purchase through Roku. I don’t see a place where I can modify the login to match the AT&T account. Help?

What AT&T service are you assuming gives you access to HBOMAX, cell service, internet or a TV service?

Hello @GryffsMom, we definitely want to help you with getting logged into your HBO Max account on your Roku TV.

Here's how to sign in on your Roku TV:

Open HBO Max and choose the Profile icon in the upper-left corner.
Choose Sign In. (Sign in not available? You may already be signed in.)
Choose Sign in Through TV or Mobile Provider. Stay on the screen with the 6-character code while you grab your phone or computer.
Open a browser on your phone or computer and in the address bar, type https://hbomax.com/tvsignin. You should see an Enter Code page (https://activate.hbomax.com).
Enter the 6-character code that appears on your TV and then choose Next. Code not working?
Choose who you subscribe through (your provider). If you're using a computer or tablet, choose View All Providers and then select your provider. I don't see my provider
Enter the username and password for your provider account that includes HBO Max.

Maybe you missed it in my original post. I have no option to log in with ATT. It is an auto login with my Roku account and gives me no option to log in with my ATT account. I changed the online account to ATT and that works for my IPad, but I cannot login with ATT in Roku,

If you're able to log in using your AT&T credentials on another device, then this error may be on Roku's end. In this case, you'll need to contact Roku support for additional assistance with this matter.

In the meantime, we have a few questions we'd like you to answer to help us get to the root cause of what you're experiencing:

Which AT&T service is this related to? (Wireless, Internet, TV)
Have you tried removing/disabling the HBO MAX app from your Roku TV? If not, we recommend doing so to help refresh your sign-in options.
