HBO Max sign in issue

We have HBO Max included with our cell phone plan.  There are four devices/users on our plan.  I have setup HBO Max on a couple devices in our home with no problem.  My daughter (who is on the plan) tried to log in to HBO Max on her smart TV using our AT&T login info, but was getting a message that the login info was invalid.  I verified that she was going through the "login with provider" link.  Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to solve it??

We're here to make sure everyone on your account can make us of HBO Max on every platform, @robrice529.

Signing in to HBO Max on a smart TV is a bit different compared to signing in on a computer or mobile device. First, sign out of HBO Max on the smart TV completely and then follow these steps to sign in to HBO Max:

  1. Open HBO Max, choose the Profile icon and select Sign in.
    • If you're signed in, and don't know how to sign out, select How do I sign out? instead.
  2. Choose Sign in with a provider.
    • Do not select Allow when asked if HBO Max can use your TV provider subscription, please select Don't allow.
  3. Stay on the screen with the 6 digit code, and grab your phone or a computer.
  4. Go to HBO Max's webpage, and enter the 6 digit code that's on your TV.
  5. Select AT&T as your provider, and enter the AT&T account sign-in information.
    • If you have multiple AT&T accounts, make sure to use the information for your wireless account. Additionally, try using your Access ID if this doesn't work.
  6. Select Sign in.

If you're still getting an error, you can see other troubleshooting options on our HBO Max sign in FAQ page that includes steps for gaining access to your streaming service.

Let us know how this goes, and share the specific error code you're getting as well. This will allow us to find the root cause of this issue, when we look into this further.
