Care Code: 205.4

I am unable to login to my HBOMax account. I can log into AT&T. Then I click on the link to HBOMax. When I try to signin on the HBO Max site through the AT&T provider link, I get logged out of AT&T, then get the following message when I try to log back in:
"

Hmm… that isn’t the ID you use for this service. Try signing in with another ID.

Care Code: 205.4"

I have cleared my cache, deleted my cookies, changed my password, and deleted and redownloaded the HBOmax app. I have used both the email associate w/ the account and the phone number of the account. This is occuring on my TV, desktop, and iPad.

Please help.

The error code 205.4 simply means that the User ID you are currently using is not authorized. Here are a few fixes that can help:

Confirm that the user ID you are using is correct and associated with the AT&T account that is provisioned with HBO Max. Find your User ID and reset your AT&T Password to troubleshoot the error code.
If you are attempting to sign in with an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Apple TV, turn Off the TV Provider within your device settings. Go to settings app>TV Provider>Remove TV Provider or Sign out.

If this does not help, let us know:

If you have a wireless account/TV/Internet account that is provisioned with HBO Max so we can move you the correct department for personalized help. Please do not post any account info here, as this is a public forum.
If you have recently made any account changes, only certain plans are provisioned with HBO Max.

Pretty sure this was just a scam to get people to either stay with AT&T or sign up in the first place, I too have had massive issues with this so called "free" service, it's an exercise in frustration and literally I'm pretty sure it's a scam, their answer is always uninstall & re-install, if you are doing this constantly it's NOT a service!!

I'm still getting this error message. I'm leary to go into my settings and sign out of the TV provider as requested. Has anyone done this and it worked? I've tried everything else and it's still not working. Next step is to leave AT&T.

I have the same problem but the other way around using my ipad. I can log in to HBO Max but can't log in to U-verse on my ipad. Loggin in tells me "That isnt the ID you set up for the service. Try signing in with another ID. Care Code 205.4". I sign in using the same ID I use with HBO Max, I've cleared history and website date, unistalled and installed app, I've removed the TV provider and added back. Still having the same issue. Its been like this for months now. Please help. Thank you!
