AT&T log-in option for HBO Max doesn't work

When I select AT&T as my provider to log in to HBO Max it brings up a screen to log into DirectTV.  I do not have DirectTV - I have an AT&T wireless plan.  I have successfully logged into HBO Max using the AT&T option previously.  There is no concern or question as to whether or not I have access to HBO Max.  The problem is the AT&T sign-in option on the HBO Max website will bring up a request to log in to DirectTV and not AT&T.  Please help.

Hello, @UD2023. Thank you for making us aware that the Provider link on HBO Max is sending you to the DirecTV log in page. We want to help.

 

We are working to get this resolved. In the meantime, have you tried to input your AT&T information, even though it says DirecTV. Some customers have found that even though it says DirecTV log in, they are still able to access with their AT&T credentials. Let us know if you have tried this. 

 

If this doesn't work, no worries we can still assist you further! Let us know what happens when you try entering your AT&T credentials on the DirecTV sign in page it sends you to. We look forward to hearing back from you so we can help resolve this, and you can get back to streaming your favorite HBO Max content!

 I managed to bypass this same issue and login

hope this helps.

Just sign with your AT&T account credentials even though it shows up as DirecTV login after you click the AT&T provider option. 
it’ll tell you they can’t find the account bc you obviously don’t have DirecTV but click “forgot my password” and go thru the steps- it will send you an email and have you change your password to yourAT&T account- go thru the steps and it should push you thru the HBO Max app

I'm having the exact same problem. Went in to att store they told me it will clear up on it's own after about two hours. Installed, installed, cleared, updated, nothing works

Apologies for the super late reply - life happened and I did not watch any tv for the past two weeks. Anyways now the AT&T login appears when I select to login with provider. I can now access HBOMax with no issues. Thank you to all that provided suggestions and help!
