HBO Max and HBO Live channels on Directv Stream?

Does the HBO Live channels that were included with wireless users that had Directv(satellite) not carry over to those that have the Directv Stream service?

I have Unlimited Elite that includes HBO Max, and when I had the Directv Satellite service the HBO live channels were added to Directv automatically.. does this not occur with Directv Stream?

thanks!

Hi @steveymacjr, thanks so much for sending us your question.

That is correct! The AT&T Unlimited Elite Plan get you access to the HBO TV channels/HBO on demand, as long as you have HBO max added to your DIRECTV STREAM account. This also applies if you have the offer linked to your DIRECTV STREAM account.

We hope this helps.

Sorry for the delay..

So how do I get the HBO Live/on demand channels added to my Directv Stream account? I have Unlimited Elite and a Directv Stream account and the live channels aren't showing up..

Do I need to add HBO first to my Directv Stream account? what is the process I need to take...thanks!

Does anyone else have an update on this?  I have access to the HBO Max app, but the ATT.com website says I'm supposed to also have access to the HBO Channels and On Demand service on my Directv Stream service, but as of now, I don't have those channels.  How do I get these channels added?  My AT&T Wireless service is bundled under the same user name as my Directv Stream service.

If I go to the Directv stream website and add the HBO channels manually will I get a credit for the $14.99 charge?

Thanks!

I have the exact same service as you do and the same question on this.   The only information that I received is to log into the HBOMAX app with the AT&T credentials you for your wireless plan. If Directv Stream has the same service address and phone number it should sync up and give the HBO channels.   That hasn't happened for me.  I had a prior Directv stream account that had the HBO channels but recently had to cancel and start a new Directv Stream plan.

I have been calling AT&T, Directv Stream customer service, technical support and customer loyalty and have been going in circles and get different answers each time.   As of now all I have recieved from these phone calls is a 3 month promo of HBO which I will have to cancel before it ends otherwise I will be charged 14.99 for something I already have.

Here we are three months later and my HBO Directv Stream promo is ending in a little over a week. I've gone around in circles calling Directv and AT&T and not one person knows about having HBO included you have HBO MAX through wireless or internet.   The reps will transfer you to other departments back and forth.  I've even tried customer retention and when I thought that rep fully understood after about 15 minutes explanation, I was transferred to another area that is clueless.

It's just amazing because on my AT&T wireless plan it clearly states HBO channels and on demand are included if you have TV service "with us".   I guess AT&T and Directv reps don't understand their own products.

One thing I did learn from one retention representative was how to log in to HBO Max , sign in with TV provider and select Directv, then link the AT&T ID with the HBO Max which is supposedly how the system links HBO to Directv Stream.  I thought that would do the trick but no luck.    Perhaps because I have the HBO 3 month promo on the account it's blocking the included HBO from activating on the Directv Stream account.   Maybe when the promo is ended it will happen but I'm not holding my breath.

If I understand you correctly, you get HBO on your TV channels if you pay for them or get them via a trial/promotion.

If you get HBO Max through a "back door" like an AT&T phone or internet plan, you don't qualify for the TV channels.

I get HBO Max via my Internet 1000. Even though I have U-Verse, I do not get the TV channels.

I haven't had any luck either! It's been over 30 days, 6 different Rep's and 4 hours of frustration.  Under details for the Internet 1000 plan it clearly states, if you have residential DIRECTV, DIRECTV STREAM, or U-verse TV, HBO channels and HBO On Demand will also be added on that TV platform.

The migration of accounts shouldn't be this difficult for the consumer.  AT&T Internet 1000 customers receive HBO MAX for free... and when you become a DIRECTV Streaming subscriber as well, the HBO channels should populate in your DIRECTV Channel Guide, because you're now bundling your services.  In these cases, DIRECTV should be adding HBO MAX to the consumers account and crediting us for those charges.  This would negate us from enduring unreasonable task and frustration with posts and phone calls for corrections.
