Old Internet Box

I recently moved into a house built in late 90s and there is what looks to be an old internet box. I am wanting it removed but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance! 😁

That looks like the controller for an AT&T Digital Life Security System.  As such, I'm going to move this over to the Digital Life forum.  That would have been installed less than 12 years ago.

That equipment became the home owner's at installation, and apparently was conveyed to you as part of the sale of the house.  It is yours.  You can remove it.

@JefferMC is correct. You own the equipment and can do what you like with it. Most people simply unplug it and remove the battery from the controller (pictured) and the keypad to eliminate any audible sounds. You can also remove it.

Digital Life used 3G cell tower connection which has been shut down….

Cellular service would now be 4G LTE, or 5G

If desire a home security system will need to consider local companies that offer the desired service.

It is best to contact reputable home security provider if you are interested in a system for your home. Our system is proprietary so you will need new equipment. AT&T Digital Life is not activating old equipment previously installed in homes nor are we accepting new customers.

Thank you @ATTDigitalLifeCS! Do you know if I could still get a security system with that equipment or does AT&T use newer equipment now?

does AT&T use newer equipment now?

Not exactly.  I'll let ATTDigitalLifeCS explain the situation.
