Phantom 911 Calls From My Basic Landline
I was just greeted by two officers from our local police department.
They were responding to two 911 calls originating from our basic landline home phone. The calls were received by the 911 dispatcher 15-30 minutes earlier.
Has anyone else experienced phantom 911 calls from their landline?

Not "phantom" but many years ago, I got a call from the PD asking if we had called 911. We had not but I realized the last call we made was to my mom's number: (ac) 691-1319.
I never knew why that happened and it only happened the one time.

AT&T service technician responded yesterday. He found problems in the two nearest termination points for our line. The most problematic was the termination closest to our home. He found the termination block housing cracked, inverted, and filled with water. The water shorting created something of a "party line" effect for our line and others on the termination block. He couldn't definitively conclude this was the cause, but suggested as much.

and my line was static and when i called our landline it was busy when it was on the hook
