Landline not working. No dial tone. Cannot receive/make calls. Customer Support (automated) advised service restoration in 6 days!!

Landline not working. No dial tone. This is the traditional landline, not VOIP. Cannot receive/make calls. Contacted Customer Support (automated) and was advised service restoration in would take 6 days!! CRAZY! I was never able to speak with a live tech support person. Does anyone have a direct line to speak with agent? Would like to discuss with live person at ATT. Tried the live chat, but no selection for traditional landline queries (Only digital option shown). Please help!

Appointments are based upon availability… limited number of techs and openings each day. If the next (5) days are already booked then the 6th day is next available.

Since this is a traditional landline when you call in make sure to say POTS at the voice prompt, don't know if saying traditional landline will work or not, this is to get you to the correct group. Also I assume you have eliminated your homes equipment and wiring by testing with a known working corded phone from the NID. Here's a link for testing and reporting a POTS line, though many have said it usually doesn't work. Call again using the information given and if still no live bodies call tomorrow.

Does POTS stand for "Plain Old Telephone Service"? I have eliminated that the problem is in my house. It appears to be external. I will call again in the morning. Thanks for the helpful response.

As my thoughts and spoom2 stated, you'll need to call our POTS team (Plain Old Telephone Service) at the phone number that was provided to get in touch with an agent and see if your service repair can be completed sooner. Be sure to ask for a POTS agent. If there is a confirmed outage, you can keep track of it on our outage page.
