How can I get my landline repaired if my POTS phone is down and CHAT won't answer phone questions

Since April 22 my POTS landline has been down. On May 1 AT&T repair came and fixed my Internet, but said he couldn't fix a POTS line. I can't call with my phone down and CHAT told me that they deal only with Internet issues. Since it might have been an AT&T repair person who was here for another customer on April 22 that cut off my service, I feel that AT&T bears increased responsibility to fix my problems. I asked the repair person who was here on May 1 if he could please inform repair (or someone) about my unique problem and set a date asap for repair, which would include migrating from POTS to VoIP. But I have yet to hear anything from AT&T. How do I get AT&T to help me if I cannot communicate with them by phone or CHAT? Please help. Thank you.

Is your Internet on fiber or a digital service? Is either available to you? Use this link to troubleshoot and report a POTS line service or this one if the first doesn't work. You can also file an FCC complaint that will be forwarded to the office of the president.

spoom2 and Community:

I neglected to mention that I am experiencing unusual, bizarre, or malicious treatment from AT&T staff. When AT&T was here to fix my April 22 downed phone and Internet, "August" was his name, he himself troubleshot my problem and said that I had a POTS line, that he couldn't fix it, and that I should change to VoiP. I'm agreeable to all of that and asked him to please pass on my particular issue since my phone was down and I couldn't call in. I do not know what action August took, but here I am still up the creek. But I should pass on this preposterous situation after I went to att.com/repair to try and set up a repair appointment. If anyone wants to send me their email, including AT&T, I will show you that the appointment that they sent was for December 31 -- is anyone supposed to take this seriously? repair my phone seven months later? can you forgive me for thinking that I'm the victim of malicious dirty tricks from AT&T employees? especially after one of my CHAT's I learned that the employee set up a fake time just to get me off the CHAT? Look at my CHAT transcripts to verify that. Also, December 31 is a Sunday, to make this truly a harassing and fake appointment, but it also said "Wednesday December 31" to really rub the behavior in. So I returned to att.com/repair to cancel the appointment and set a new one, as AT&T says we can, but I cannot get past the pop-up dialogue box that we use to enter our phone number. My number was already entered and I cannot get to the next screen no matter how many times I hit "Continue." To say that I'm in a world of hurt, that I'm spinning my wheels, is an understatement. I truly need emergency help. But I will contact the FCC and FTC. Any suggestions?

You need to know that this is a customer-to-customer forum and NOT a way to contact AT&T directly.  @ATTHELP will occasionally chime but that is rare.

As suggested, contact the FCC or the BBB.  Those ars are forwarded to and handled by the OOP.
