AT&T Landline not working

My landline is not working,  Just humming so loudly I can't hear anyone who is calling.  My phone was getting calls this morning but I could not hear the person calling,  just the loud humming.  I could not call out.   

I reached out online and set up a repair,  the ticket # PL3P5V32,   technician supposed to arrive on Wed 06/29.   I am outside in the yard and my neighbor comes over and tells me that an AT&T truck was here.   Now I have a message on my phone to 'check line connection'.   Not sure what the technician did or why they were here today.   

I entered my cell phone on the ticket but it does not show and when I select 'change repair ticket' to see if I can add it,  there is no where to edit the ticket.   

So,  first,  great that they could come by today but why no notice?  and does this mean my appointment for Wed is canceled?

Update,  the technician came back and the problem is fixed.

To clarify, our repair tickets for landline concerns are usually provided with a due date, and are often times completed long before that date arrives. In addition, our technicians for this type of repair very infrequently need to interrupt our customers for the repair, so long as they can identify that the root cause of the interruption is isolated to the outside of the house. In this situation, it sounds to us like our technician was able to identify the cause and repair it well ahead of schedule. We apologize for the confusion, however. We can definitely see how not receiving advanced notice and seeing information regarding your appointment disappear must have been very concerning. Therefore, we want to submit this feedback, and see if we can make this process more transparent and smooth. Thank you for helping us identify a place where we can improve!
