Landline home phone plan CANNOT be changed--avoid this ATT trap
For about six weeks now, I have been unable to change my landline phone plan. When I log in to my account, and click on all the right places, including "View My Plan" or "Change My Plan" for landline phone, it automatically goes to a page featuring wireless phones and options. Think it's cookies on my computer? No--it works the same way on my non-ATT cell phone, a desktop I tried that is not mine, and a laptop. The reason might be that I live in a rural area where a landline costs almost $100/month with almost no features. This is because cell phone connection is poor here. I've tried to call the appropriate number on ATT a total of TEN times. Five of those I was eventually disconnected. Three I was disconnected by ATT. The other two I was directed to waiting for the wireless sales line.
I know big companies are busy, but this is truly some of the worst customer service I have ever heard of in my life--from someone who pays almost $275/month for a landline and DirectTV.
