Does AT&T Have a Permanent Call Forwarding Feature?
I want to park an old phone number by putting it on a permanent call forward to a landline. Does AT&T have such a service and what does it cost? I see many vendors online offering to do permanent call forwarding on a number for $6 to $9 per month.
Please note that I am NOT asking about how to use a call forwarding feature on a regular phone. I want a service where the phone is always on forward to another number, and I am not paying anything for outgoing calls on the number because the number is just a virtual construct and it always forwards to the real phone.

That would be a question for the reps. Since only active service can be forwarded, I'd assume it's going to be a lot more than 6-9 bucks.

We're here to assist with your call forwarding, @westes!
Thank you for your help, @spoom2!
The number that you want to enable the call forwarding for, is it currently associated with another home phone or wireless device? If so, we can provide instructions on enabling call forwarding for that device and you won't have to worry about it in the future.
If you are looking to just keep the number, but no device associated with it, let us know as that is a bit different.
We look forward to hearing from you!

You can forward it and remove everything, but you have to keep the account active like stated and you're not going to get a discounted rate. Unless customer service has something else, which is why the suggestion to call them.

Thanks for getting back to us, westes.
As spoom2 stated, you'll need to call our Landline team at 800-288-2020 to see what options are available to keep the number that you want forwarded with no device attached.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach back out. Thanks for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.
