Call Blocking
Hi!
My wifi home phone,(digital phone?) gets about 30 "unavailable", "suspected spam", "telemarketer" and calls from hijacked numbers. I am on the state and federal do not call lists. I have the call screening service thru ATT. And I have blocked a lot of numbers manually.
Still, I get about 30 calls a day. I no longer answer my phone unless I know who the caller is. If I'm watching even a commercial on TV and the phone rings, I no longer jump to see who it is. I figure if it's not a fake spam call, they can leave a voicemail. I would just cancel my service but I have a senior relative living with me and his mind goes blank and he stares at the phone with glazed over eyes when I try to teach him how to use a cell phone. So, I have to keep the wireless home phone.
Is there a way I can go to my call list, and "checkmark" the calls I want to block and then hit "block numbers" to quickly block a large number of these unwanted callers in one shot? And can we really only block 100 calls total? I could block 200 a week or more.
I am so ready to cancel my phone service and get a cellphone tutor for my uncle. There has to be something I can do or ATT can do to stop this constant harrassment of scam calls. If they can't do more than allowing only 100 calls to be blocked, than they are allowing this harrassment to continue in my opinion.
Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou.

Blocking numbers must be done individually.
There is no option to block, let's say, all 866 AC numbers or all 855 AC numbers. Because many numbers are spoofed, regardless of how diligent you might be, calls will get through.
And yes you have a limit of 100 numbers. I recently had to purge some older numbers to make way for newer numbers.

The message you're getting about suspected spam is a requirement by the FCC that the phone companies have to provide on digital service and cell service, when they aren't sure about the origin of the call. Unavailable, means no information was sent, currently the phone companies can't block these. As far as blocking options go a phone with a good call blocker or a third party blocking device is much better than any blocking service offered by the phone companies. The FCC and legislatures are still looking into what more the phone companies can do about spam calls.
