Error 205.4
Hi - I had reached out regarding an error I receive when I login to hbomax. For the record I’ve never been able to login to HBO max due to the error I keep getting.
I connected with a specialist who took me through many steps and established there is an error at your end. I was asked to wait 72 hours to receive an email from AT&T or a call. Nothing has come through yet and I’m unable to access my hbomax account.
can someone help?

Have to ask this question, even though I think that I already know. Do you have a sbcglobal.net email account or some older yahoo account, etc?
Thanks, been dealing with this error for weeks until last night (for one day, lol)

I used to have an older yahoo account. But haven’t logged in like forever.

Sorry for the late reply but I wanted to wait a little longer to see if my account would get locked again. Sadly it did.
What I had done was deleted my sbcglobal.net account and thought that at least then there wouldn't be the login attempts but even with a different user id and no sbcglobal.net email account, I am once again locked out of my services.
The only suggestion that I can give is to use an apple tv with SSO for HBO Max, and Directv Stream.
This company's right and left hands do not seem to work together. This is so frustrating because the service folks are so nice and they get the account unlocked but it's a 1+ hour ordeal on the phone every other evening.
It would be nice to have a statement by ATT acknowledging this situation and the steps that they are taking to fix it. This forum is filled with this situation.
Sorry that I couldn't help, I was optimistic yesterday.

We understand how frustrating it is being constantly locked out of your email @Haussm. We're here to help address those concerns.
In regards to the current lockout problem that many of our customers have been facing, we are aware of this issue and we are actively doing our best to mitigate the dreaded 205 error code that you've been having issues with.
For now, the workaround we have in place is to reset your email password anytime you get locked out (you should be free to reset it to the same password you currently use for simplicity's sake). Here's how you can do so:
Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, and thanks for reaching out on the AT&T Community Forums!
