Paying subscription for car connect?
Call AT&T.
Service is obviously not active.

I’m trying to reactivate the WIFI Hotspot since the trial period ended and I purchased a 1-year unlimited data plan. I’m also getting the message indicating the internet is temporarily unavailable. Connected Car Services unable to determine the problem. Dealership ran diagnostics on the car and everything checks out fine.

hi
I am in the boat with my RAV4 2020 hybrid , it is as if they keep putting it off each other and no one wants to fix it! I have been literally trying to get it fixed for about 5 weeks now. Yet, I feel as if I am the fool because I am paying for services not rendered

I read somewhere that someone disconnected their battery, then reconnected it to fully reset the DCM unit. After that they were able to reconnect the WIFI Hotspot to the internet.
I have an email out to Toyota USA outlining the problem I’m having and the fact that nobody seems to know how to fix it. I’m asking if they have someone who can help me. I’ll let you know what they say after I hear back from them.

Wow! Great minds think alike, I just got off the phone with my local Toyota dealership and advised that the just got off the phone with the Toyota connect services and they advised to run a diagnostic and have them disconnect the battery at least for 30 minutes to reset my unit!
i go into tomorrow at 715 am central time!
I’ll keep you posted!
oh I did also have them email the case number versus a verbal, just to keep a paper trail!

Please let me know if disconnecting the battery works.
I’ve also been asking if there’s another way to reset the Hotspot back to factory/initialized state as if it has never been connected so it will go through the initial setup again. Was hoping there’s a way to do that short of disconnecting the battery. Perhaps there isn’t. I haven’t gotten a response yet.

Hi,
i took in and they told me it needed a “firmware update” that I could not have done on my end.🙄🙄 Basically reset my DCM unit. Unfortunately, I pressed the issue about what exactly they did, but they would not say out right how! 🙄🙄
i attached the photo to hopefully help you but if i am correct yours should still be under manufacture warranty you should be able to call have them do the same. ( under parts) it took about 2.5 hours for them to call pick up!
but they got it work!!!!

I’m glad to hear that you got your WIFI Hotspot working. I get a call from a Toyota USA case manager who responded to my inquiry about this issue. I was told that Toyota has a TSB on this issue and that the dealership should have searched for that when I brought my vehicle to them late last week. They could have fixed it the first time. The case manager is calling the service manager at my local dealership in the morning to notify them of the TSB and to have them call me and schedule a service appointment to fix it (this time). Wish me luck.
