No Notification Icon for Voicemail
I have Moto G6 running on Consumer Cellular network with AT&T SIM card and service from AT&T, including voicemail. I have been through this with CC Help Desk and they can't solve it. They said they'd turn it over to AT&T but no word from anyone after that. Running Android 8.0 Oreo. Voicemail is working with left messages but no notification icon shows. Also, I have all notifications on and notification dots allowed but no notification dots appear on any app icons. Voicemail is pretty useless without knowing when there is a message waiting. Any ideas?

Hello, @bobwal,
We'd love to help restore the notification icon for you. have you tried resetting network settings? If not, go into Settings>Backup & Reset>Network Settings>Reset Settings. Restart your device after that. Let us know if this helps!

Per the Consumer Cellular help person, I have tried a network settings reset and it did not help. I have notifications turned on, allow notification dots, and on the actual voicemail menu, I have outcall notifications turned on. If it has any relevance, my Moto G6 was first installed with a SIM card from T-Mobile. I requested a change to AT&T and got an AT&T SIM card installed and activated by CC. Any other ideas?

Hi @bobwal
Thank you for reaching out to us today. If nothing else you've tried has worked thus far, we'd suggest doing a hard reset of your device. Back up any files (pictures, videos, music, etc) that you want to keep. Turn off the phone and then press and hold the Volume Up key and Power key simultaneously until the Android system recover screen appears. Use the Volume Down key to highlight the “wipe data/factory reset” option and then use the Power button to make the selection.
Please let us know if this works for you!

I think rather than go through a hard reset and have to deal with trying to restore everything the way it was from a backup, without any assurance that this will provide a solution, I'm going to leave it the way it is and accept that I can't get any notification icon from voicemail. My phone does register my getting every call, both through the contacts app and CleverDialer app, so I can see when a call has come in. I'll just refer to this and check voicemail manually, even though it's a pain. Thanks anyway for your attempts.
