Make it right AT&T!!!
When you get told by more than one person that your Galaxy s6 Edge Plus will run better with the new MM 6.0.1 update and then find out that the update won't come out until who knows when, what is a customer supposed to do? Continue to pay for a device that doesn't run the way you would expect a flagship phone from a supposed leader in the wireless phone service world? Too much run around and misleading information and then finally talk to someone who is informative, but basically says you are stuck with this device and to suck it up. Not right at all AT&T. This is a poor way to treat loyal customers.

Can my S6 Edge Plus be upgraded to MM 6.0.1 at a Samsung Experience Store instead of waiting on AT&T?

No, not until ATT releases it.

Performance on 5.1 and performance on 6.0 are nearly identical with every device out there. In fact the CPU and RAM gains are minimal on all devices benchmarked at major sites such as AndroidCentral, etc.
Exactly what is the issue you're having? You would benefit more from a factory reset than an update.

Heats up, very slow even after factory restore. I have done at least a half dozen factory resets on it in the last two months and even had the software reinstalled at an AT&T store.Issues with it showing as charging even when it's been off the charger for awhile. I had a few days of the screen being upside down when I hit the home button to open the phone up. I have carplay in my car and the app on my phone. Half the time the car doesn't recognize my phone when plugged into the USB, half the time it works fine. Plug my wifes iPhone in and it works everytime with no issues. Just a laundry list of issues that I was told by a few reps would be remedied by the software update. I guess I'll have to go with a warranty swap and get a nice, refurbished replacement phone.
I pretty much give up at trying to get anywhere with AT&T. The company has no respect for their customers and trying to make sure they have top of the line equipment. Instead they lock you into a contract under the guise that you're getting the best phones with the best carrier. ^ months later, here we are.
I've spent too much time and effort trying to get a resolution to this. It seems that AT&T is happy taking our money and not giving a crap about the overall satisfaction of their customers.
