Can the Secure Family App be locked on my teen's mobile phone?
Once the Secure Family App is paired between parent and child, the child should not be able to tamper with it. Is there a way to lock the app with a code so that the child cannot disconnect from the parent phone? Secure Family app establishes a VPN from parent to child and it doesn't work if the child can remove or disconnects the VPN. Overall, this app is designed for elementary school children because I guarantee that kids in middle school and high school will get around this app. The app simply doesn't work.

Hello @mackflo and thanks for reaching out to the AT&T community for help!
To help prevent any tampering or removal of the AT&T Secure Family Companion app on your child's device, you can follow these steps:
If your child has an Apple device:
If your child has an android device, they won't be able to remove the app unless you give them the PIN code from the parent Secure Family app.
You can also access our Manage AT&T Secure Family app and scroll down to the bottom of the page for quick info and more information.
We hope this helps, and Happy Holidays!

This does not work. I have Family Secure app set up to restrict specific apps and those specific apps are still on her phone. Why doesn't this app work?

I can prevent my teen from deleting the Secure Family App from his iphone. However, can and has deleted the MDM Profile that is required on his phone. Is there a way to prevent him from deleting the Profile that is needed to properly manage his phone?

We are here to shed a light on your Mobile Device Manager (MDM) profile deletion concern acapin!
Deleting of the MDM profile is a known tampering method where the paired child goes to settings and deletes the profile. There is no known way to prevent this.
The best method recommended to prevent deliberate tampering of the Companion App is for parents to:
• First have a proactive conversation with their child before installing Secure Family explaining that the Companion App is a tool to provide online safety for the child. “You trust your child but don’t trust the online world and what it may expose your child to”.
• It is important that parent’s build trust with their child when it comes to use of parental controls apps such as Secure Family.
Parent’s should be encouraged to ask their child to participate in the installation and setup of Secure Family to help build that trust, so the child does not disable the Companion App when they leave the house (which happens in the majority of reported cases).
Get Secure Family app user guides to get help in setting up and using the Secure Family App.

We hope this helps! Reach back out to us if you have additional questions. Thank you for posting on the AT&T Community Forums!
