Text message logs
Hello- I made did not know that iCloud would save text messages and did not have text saved to the Cloud in settings. I have all the texts for the last year in the phone but because of a legal issue I need to have some them printed out. I can access all texts information (time/date) in my logs in my AT&T account but NOT the actual message. Shouldn't there, for legal reasons, some place where these can be accessed with the proper credentials?

No.
1. Your messages are private.
2. Carriers do not save content of delivered messages
3. Carriers may not deliver all messages and messages not delivered in 72 hours may not ever be delivered.
4. IMessage is data. Carriers never have iMessage content. IMessage is delivered as data through Apple servers and is encrypted.

Thank you- I'm appreciate your help. I just would like where we would find the messages that are used for legal reasons. Certainly being the phones owner I would not need a court order to get them. And on that idea how does a court get private messages?

Those messages only exist on your phone. Talk to your attorney about how to print them for your purposes

A court gets them the same way you do, from the device they were sent from or received by. If you backup your phone to iCloud, you are backing up the messages also. Technically, messages can be extracted from that backup. I’ve never heard of an iCloud backup being provided by court order but it is technically possible.

@mamarosella Obtain from where? If you mean ATT, no, they don’t save text content. You can only print off what’s on your phone. If the conversation you are looking for was deleted, it’s gone.
