Personal hotspot not on unlimited data plan
YThis is problem and answer: I had 30 Gb plan. Had a lot of rollover data. Reduced to 10gb, within a week rewalized I needed more. Called att to go back to original plan. Was told unlimited would be $24 less than original plan.
Was not told I could not use hotspot on this unlimited plan. I am a full time RVer, traveling and working on the road as a researcher and consultant. . I must have the hotspot from my iPad to work on my laptop. This lost me income for 2 days before I discovered the unlimited plan cut my access not a connection problem. Makes me angry!
Have now now learned there is unlimited "choice" plan AND WHAT I NEED IS THE UNLIMITED PLUS PLAN! Which allows personal hotspot and tethering.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention via the Community Forums! I apologize the Unlimited Choice plan did not suit your needs; however, I can definitely help you get the plan you need.
Our Unlimited Plus plan features higher speeds, a ten gigabyte hotspot (per line), and HBO compared to our Unlimited Choice plan. More details on both of these plans can be found here. We also have a super helpful article on how to change your plan; if you are unable to do so, we would be more than happy to assist you.
