No Subject Texts

Recently I began getting texts from some of my contacts that show as No Subject and will not download. Using Galaxy S21+.

Hello @jdtalley5802, we're happy to help with information on solutions for No Subject Texts.

Turning on automatic MMS downloads allow you to download text that has the No Subject error. You will need to make sure your mobile data is enabled before you try downloading these messages even though the no subject message.

This error message sometimes indicates that a file is being sent to your device that is too large to download. Or there is not enough space on your device to receive the subject text. Try the following to resolve this issue:

  • Clear up space on your device. Go to > Settings >Storage and clear the Cached Data.  Doing that may clear up a lot of space on your Android phone, especially if it's something that hasn't been done in quite a while.

  • Uninstall any other Third-Party messaging apps. If you are still receiving the ‘No Subject’ error message background messaging apps can be the culprit.
  • Restart your device. Restarting your device resets any malfunctions that occur.
  • Get step-by-step troubleshooting sign in to your account, select your devices Make and Model> Messaging and then follow the prompts for common resolves to Subject texts.

We understand the importance of staying connected. For additional troubleshooting steps there are helpful solutions on the manufacter help page. We're here if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
