Galaxy watch 4 wont number sync

Just purchase a galaxy watch 4 yesterday. It will only sync to my phone if its connecting thru Bluetooth. I have a lime for the watch so i shouldn't have to do this. When i try to do the number sync i receive this code. PD-SDK-N/A 

Spent 2 hrs with customer support with no resolution

Also, when it comes to using one smartphone number across multiple devices to send and receive texts, make and receive calls, and more, there are important factors to consider.

 

Visit AT&T NumberSync where you will find exact instructions to sync devices to your smartphone number. Under the first set of instructions you will find this helpful tip:

  • Note: To set up NumberSync, you must first connect your watch to an AT&T Cellular Network and have the latest software version. For more information on connecting to the AT&T Cellular network, view the Device Setup tutorial.

Problem solved! I just bought a watch and been having the same problems as everyone else here for the last 24 hours trying to make it work.  Based on advice I got from a very Tech savvy friend, I turned off the AT&T call blocking app and did a "force stop" . Immediately after that  I tried the AT&T number sync.I got the code and my watch and my phone are working perfectly together right now.

 My phone is a Samsung Galaxy note 20 ultra. The watch is the new gear 4.

Based on your Numbersync concerns, we want to get you into a DM for further troubleshooting @Jj8279. Check the message icon on the upper portion of the page and reply. 

 

In the meantime, we want to include some questions to add in your reply. 

  • Have you completed the step to turn on Enhanced LTE on your device? Your device will need to be HD voice capable to use the Numbersync feature. Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Mobile Data > Enhanced LTE)
  • Are you able to view and manage your AT&T Access ID? Each wireless number on your account that uses NumberSync should have its own ID. This ensures that all calls sent to and from a synced device are linked to the right number.
  • Have you checked that the software is up to date?

Gather the information above and reply back to us in the direct message, and we will get started working on a solution. Again, keep an eye out for the DM.

AT&T, why are you acting like you know nothing about this issue and giving normal troubleshooting steps!?!?!? 

I just bought 2 watches this past Saturday, 6/11/22 at an AT&T corporate store in my town. They assured me that it would be a very easy process to get home, pair our new watches and activate the numbersync feature. Well, neither watch was able to successfully turn on numbersync. 

I spent a total of nearly 5 hours on the phone yesterday 6/12/22 with tech support and about 2 hours in the same store the watches were purchased from the day before. 

The store rep got new eSim cards and re-paired the watches thinking it was a sim issue why it wouldn't numbersync. It still continued to fail. They called your advanced tech support line and the tech support rep verified all the info was correct on both ends. Imie, icid and whatever other numbers were all verified to be correct and that the numbersync feature would work in about 5-6 hours even though it was currently failing and that we wouldn't have to do anything. 

Well 7-8 hours later it still wasn't working. So I called tech support again and that is when they finally verified that this is a known issue that has no resolution as of now and that there isn't even an ETA of when there will be a resolution.

You guys are lying and stealing from the customers that make your company a company. I'm paying for a watch and a service that doesn't work the way it is supposed to and advertised to the consumers. From what I gather you're not even telling the stores about the problem and continue to sell the watches. You even have a buy one get one free sale on Samsung watches right now. 

Why did I you sale these if they don't work how they're supposed to work. I already had Samsung watches that were only Bluetooth. I purchased these for the sole purpose of numbersync. That way I can make and recieve call and texts from my main phone number because I can not have my phone on me at times.

So AT&T... What are you doing about this? What are you going to do for your loyal customers who spend their hard earned money on your services and products? This isn't a device issue, this is an AT&T issue. Verizon sells the same watches and they're not having any issues. Maybe you guys should stop selling the watches and services until you have this figured out. Or at minimum, inform customers on the ongoing issue!!!

I've had nothing but 1 problem after another for the past year. In the past year I have not had 1 single phone bill correct. You guys have lost trade ins, added a line for no reason, failed to give us phone payments on a new device that had a phone traded in and now this. I've spent countless hours over the last year trying to get all the problems fixed. I don't know about you, but I don't like this. I'd much rather give up the phones we have payments on (even though they're free phones because we traded in devices for the new phones total amount) and take my money to Verizon but you guys won't let me out of the phones. There is nothing about AT&T that I like. Everything from the uneducated store reps, on the phone customer service reps, technical support team, and the loyalty department (Edited per community guidelines). Every aspect and department within your business seems broken and I've never got the same answer to the same question from more than 1 person? Everyone always has some other answer, it's infuriating. 

AT&T.... Get your (Edited per community guidelines) together already! I want to know what you can do for me to make me want to stay a customer because I'm very close to eating the loss and going to Verizon!

We can use some additional information to help get your Numbersync working for you device. 
  • Can you provide me with the make and model of both your wearable and device? This will help us find the best next steps that works for your devices. 
  • Also, when you are trying to complete the process, what error are you getting? This will help us determine what is causing your device to not complete the process successfully.

We also have step by step instructions on how to Numbersync on our Device Support page.

  1. Select appropriate watch manufacturer.
  2. Select Wearable.
  3. Instruct customer to select their specific model of watch, then select Confirm selection.
  4. Select Key Features.
  5. Select NumberSync.
  6. Follow the instructions for NumberSync setup.

@ATTHelp are you just going to completely ignore my long post that talks about your numbersync issue and respond to @Justin_636 and act like you're going to fix his issue?

When are you guys gonna actually tells customers that this is not an issue with their device and no amount of troubleshooting is going to solve the issue. No one has numbersync working unless they have an iwatch and you know this. 

I'll wait for a response! C'mon att get it together. It's been a week since we bought 2 brand new Galaxy watches and there has been no updates on this issue.

I finally got number sync working let me know if it works for you.  I decided to go in my phone and click on manage my device on att then I went to Manga number sync the page took a while to load first time it loaded it was blank so I refreshed then it loaded fine. It asks you to input number sync codem. So I went and clicked on number sync on my watch and finally got the code.  It also did an error after I input the code saying it didn't work.  But my watched said number sync is on.  Messages started syncing.  So to test it I shut off my phone and called my fiancee and it was my number not the watch number.  Also texted her and all seems to be working.  Hope this helps u guys

After reading @Embo22000 message I went to my watch to activate the numbersync and it worked! I assume AT&T fixed what ever caused the error. Thanks to everyone on the forum.
