Cruise data plans

Has anyone taken heavy data users (teenagers) on a cruise and used the 200 MB cruise data plan? Wondering if it is enough for a 4 day cruise. I have a daughter who is on youtube and instagram constantly.

The cruise ship has a wifi plan with 1000 MB.

Anybody with experience with either of these options??

Hi @hoovers4, we'll be happy to point you in the right direction about our cruise data plans.

While on your cruise we recommend you turning off any background apps that are not being used and also turning on airplane mode to conserve data when you're not using your device.

Turn off data roaming
Do this if you want to place calls and receive texts but not use cellular data. Turning off data roaming blocks:

  • Emails
  • Web browsing and downloads
  • Visual Voicemail
  • Picture and video messages

Use Wi-Fi
Enjoy Wi-Fi when available. It doesn’t count toward your data allowance.

Data is only included in the AT&T Cruise Talk, Text & Data package. With the AT&T Cruise Talk & Text package, pay-per-use data rates apply. Actual data speeds vary by device and ship. If your domestic plan includes Stream Saver, or reduces video streaming speed, the same will apply to your Cruise package.

If you use all your Cruise package data, we'll automatically allow you to use additional data at a per MB overage rate found at att.com/cruise.

We hope this information helps.
