blocking a text spammer

I continually get spam texts. while I block/delete the numbers, they continue to send using another number. It's endless. I tried AT&T Support but they only offered Call Protect.  So I thought the Forum might have more/better suggestions.

There is very little you can do to stop it. Your phone number was probably compromised and then sold to spammers/phishers. All you can really do is not respond and just trash it. They will eventually go away if you don't respond.

Apple needs to create a way to block these text spammers. It’s incredible annoying. I receive several messages every.single.day and most have obscenities in them. They constantly add new telephone numbers and so blocking the numbers is an on-going daily task. Apple....PLEASE HELP US!

@Janetkay Apple has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's the service providers and there is very little they can do until the FCC et al start to take stronger actions, which they are doing albeit slowly. AT&T could certainly step up their game but we're talking AT&T here.

Even if Apple, or any phone mfr, came up with a better filtering system you still have the problem of the ever-changing From: addresses, which are constantly changing spoofed phone numbers or email addresses.

I’m not tech savvy and so I apologize for putting the blame on Apple instead of AT&T. Regardless, I wish that something could be done. Thank you for responding to my message. 😊

@Janetkay We all wish that something better could be done with these calls and messages.
