Block all the text messages from numbers with 141 prefix
How can I block text messages from unidentified numbers that use 141 prefix? I turned on the option "Block calls from unidentified callers" but it doesn't block text messages.

Hi @Kay06! We understand how frustrating it can be to receive spam text messages, we are here to help!
Block the unwanted number from calling or texting you by going to the Message thread > Select contact icon > Info icon > Block this caller > Block this number. Please do not open, reply or click on any links on the suspicious text messages as doing so will alert the spammer that your number is active.
Forward the suspicious text message to 7726 (SPAM) or Report Unwanted Texts to us. We also recommend our AT&T Mobile Security & Call Protect Apps and our AT&T Active Armor which is included in our Unlimited Plans for additional protection. These apps scan your device for malware and reduces your chance of becoming a victim of fraud.
We hope this helps! Thank you for reaching out to the community!

Thank you for the quick response! I wonder why it is not possible, though. Is it because such a feature is simply missing or such a feature is impossible to implement?

Thank you for your response. But the problem is that I need to pay 20 cents each for every spam text message I receive. Even if I may be able to block the number as you instructed, the damage has been done already. And when I tried to manually add numbers with 141 prefix such as +11410100013 to "Blocked numbers" list, it doesn't seem to block the message.

Digging into this problem a bit, it seems to me that the issue is with the default messaging app on Android that doesn't block "unidentified" numbers. I will see if I can find any messaging app in Play Store that does the job. Thank you.

Before I try another app, may I ask if it is possible to stop SMS service altogether on my account? I rarely use SMS anyway.

Thanks for responding @Kay06.
It is possible to stop SMS service on your account; however, you may want to try your first idea of using another messaging app and setting it as your default, as turning off SMS could also hinder those apps as well. If you would like to proceed with that though, please let us know and we'll be happy to assist you.
