att network via sim card will not connect to chromebook
***THIS IS NOT A WI-FI CONNECTION ISSUE***!!! I have a chromebook OS that I purchased on May 22nd. I have the $20 a month data plan on the line. When I insert my sim card into the side of the chromebook and select ATT under network, it tries to connect and but then i get the following error codes: 1. Modem not registered 2. org.chromium.flimflam.error.failure. NOBODY has been able to assist me with this issue from tech support to live in person reps. We have done every type of reset option known to man and we have replaced the sim card as well. If ANYONE can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!!!

My Chromebook is still at Samsung. I should know something in the next couple of days. They are apparently aware of this but AT&T continues to sell the products knowing that there are issues which is frustrating. Before I sent my Chromebook to Samsung I tried the remove the sim card thing and that only worked twice and then when I would try to use it the next time it would connect for 10-15 seconds and then lose connection again. I will update here as soon as I know if Samsung can fix the problem or not.

I am having the same issue as those described above with a new Chromebook. I am using the only data plan that was offered by AT&T with the Chromebook. I can only get about 15 seconds of connection to the LTE network before it disconnects. It won't connect again unless you remove and re-insert the sim card. Same error messages. I will monitor this forum and hope someone has better luck.

Update; I found I can maintain an LTE connection only as long as the wifi is disabled or not connected to a network. Maybe it is turning off automatically when it detects an available wifi signal?
Hope this helps.

Okay so not great news. I received an email reply from Samsung today. They advised that the repair was unsuccessful and they are trying to offer me over $300 in Samsung store credit which does nothing for my AT&T balance on my Chromebook. I have replied and given them my telephone number to call me so we can discuss what needs to happen for all of their customers that cannot get full use of their product. Also I’ll be going back to AT&T to discuss them continuing to sell a product that cannot be used with their SIM card. I will not continue making payments on a device that is not capable of doing the one thing I was promised it would do.

Hello everyone,
The updates break your Chromebook. So unfortunately once you update your Chromebook to the latest version you will not be able to use it. AT&T doesn't know how it works, neither does Samsung.
If you updated your chromebook and now your LTE signal is no longer working, I recommend following the steps to this video. It will return your chromebook back to a previous version:

I had the same problem, after many calls over a week to AT&T Technical Support, it was solved and now works. It was diagnosed as the usage plan that AT&T sells with the Chromebook is incompatible. Their error. I received a new SIM on a new usage plan and it now works. Hope this helps someone.

I received a check in the mail today from Samsung due to the issue being unrepairable. I can now take that to AT&T and pay my Chromebook off and turn off the service. I hope some of you are having better luck than I did.

I am having this issue to! Someone please help. I've had the same $20 unlimited plan on this account since I got the Chromebook over 6 months ago. So how is it that the plan hasn't changed, but now I can't connect to the network? When I remove and reinsert my sim it connects to the network and then in a few seconds it kicks it right back off? So before you say it's the wrong plan, I've had the same plan and up until 2 months ago it worked just fine!
