Advanced messaging still not working even after several updates.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and the advanced messaging feature for texting still doesn't work. I found a thread here that is 2 years old, tried what it suggested, and it still does not work. There have been several firmware updates in the span of 2 years and I'm wondering if I should just continue to use Google Messages. Any suggestions?
