Life Insurance former AT&T employee then became New Yok Telephone.
My husband worked for At&T in 1976 before we became N.Y. Telephone. I worked for AT&T from 1969 then to New York Tel. I was told that we had a death benefit even if we went to New York Tel. My husband passed away in 2019 and was told by other employees call AT&T and claim his death benefit. Is this true, Can I collect on his death benefit.

Not likely anyone here can answer that. The ATT you worked for back then is long gone. The ATT of today just has the same name, it is a totally different company than what you worked for. You would need to contact whoever administers ATT benefits to see if any of those benefits from back then transferred. I would think that benefit transferred to NY Telephone. Does that company still exist?
