"Free" Galaxy Trade in
Hi @ATTMobilityCare - I recently did the Galaxy trade in. I walked into a store in Feb to discuss the trade in. I left to think about it. Then ordered online, but brought it back to the store for set up. I checked online a month in to verify my trade in applied. The website said the credit could take 3 mths. Never was I told that I was required to change by plan within 30 days of receiving the phone or no credit. If i had known, I would have kept my old phone. Now, I have a $800 bill and when I chatted to see why, they said I missed the plan change deadline. Sorry, but I am in grad school, I sold/bought my house and changed jobs during this time period. I missed your fine print but that is also why I brought it into the store to get set up correctly. The chat manager shut me down and offer to educate me for next time. There will be no next time if this is what I am dealing with. I also told him that Fiber is starting in my area and if this was the customer service, I would not be expanding my dealings with AT&T. He said he only worked wireless and that didn't matter - not great Customer Service.
I would like what I thought I was getting. A credit for my phone and now if my plan needs to be adjusted, that that gets done as well. Esp when I checked online and it said the credit would take 3 mths - misleading at best. If the plan change was required, the set up should have stopped the store and not allow it to proceed. Please address - this is hardly free as mentioned in commericals and the fine print should have been caught by my 2 visits to the store. I'd also take my old phone back, but I am sure that's not possible.
