Electric Bill Increase?

There's nothing about the DL system that would account for any noticeable increase in power consumption.  I saw the same shocking spike in my bill this month too but it was due to the unusually cold temperatures we had on the East Coast.  

Where are you located? Here, if the weather is rotten, the electric company will estimate the usage instead of an actual reading, sometimes two months in a row. Then when they do take a reading......LOOK OUT!!

If you happen to be in the Boston area with 100 inches of snow the last two-three months, that's a a good bet.

I'm in Seattle....oddly our winter has been really mild, so don't think it is the heating.  But good to hear that the DL system isn't causing others to have larger electric bills.  Ok, will keep sleuthing on what caused the spike

I thought that my surge in the electric bill was related to the new security system because i do have 2 cameras, etc. I came to this forum looking for answers also.
