How do you channel to get clear voice from caller?

Forget it, I may be on the wrong page. My husband said he couldn’t hear clearly through the phone on the land line

There are a number of things we can try to improve your connection. Take a look at our support page on landline troubleshooting for a variety of helpful steps to diagnose what's going on with your service.
Alternatively, you can create a landline repair ticket. Our system will prompt you to try a few steps based on the information you provide to improve your service as soon as possible. If we don't have any success with that, we'll submit the ticket, and keep you updated with an expected arrival of the technician as soon as we can.

@ATTHelp If only one person in the household is having problems hearing on the phone, it's not the phone or the line. That question hasn't been answered.
