Depends on your service, digital or traditional landline, or something else?

To block a number: Press #, dial the 10-digit number you want to add, and press # to confirm. To unblock a number: Press *, dial the 10-digit number you wish to remove, and press * to confirm. Enter *67 and then the number you want to block from seeing your caller ID info.

Hi @DavidAssmann, we are happy to help.

We understand you are wanting to block numbers on your AT&T landline phone.

You can use the feature, Call Block:

Call Block allows you to block up to six pre-selected phone numbers.

  1. To block a designated phone number, press, (*60), press (#).
  2. Wait for the dial tone, and dial the first designated phone number you wish to block.
  3. Followed by the (#) .
  4. Repeat this process to add more phone numbers.
  5. To deactivate, press (*80 ).

Calls from cellular phones and calls placed with operator assistance cannot be blocked.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!

My mother will bring the phone to me now with calls she is suspicious of but she has dementia and Parkinson’s and it’s very hard for her sometimes.. please how can I stop all these unwanted calls..

Short answer is you can't, everyone gets them.  Get a phone that you can build a white list and only allow the numbers in the list to ring through.

If it's digital service go into the phone features of your MyAtt account.  Traditional landline dial into the service and follow the prompts.

How about a number we can call and do this on? Like Dial 1800- blah blah, press # and follow the prompts to listen & then delete old numbers. Press # to add a new number to block.

They used to let us do this online and it was MUCH EASIER to do that. Like everything else with greedy ATT, they take it away but give you nothing in return.

It's now 2023 and I can't get any of these instructions to work to block a number that calls everyday on my landline. What's up AT&T? My old Spectrum (Time-Warner) landline phone account would allow me to do this easy-peasy on my account in their website with unlimited numbers. Just go in to the site and add the number. Boom. Done. You have no way in this day and age to make it easy? I tried what I could find under your website and none of it works.

OK this is what I found:

For a regular landline, click the phone on, and when you hear the dial tone, press * (star) 60. You will hear a voice say, "You have X amount of blocked numbers. To hear them, press 1. (If there aren't any, she will say that.)

You will hear a voice read off the blocked numbers you have. (I write them down). If you want to delete them, press 07 IMMEDIATELY after she reads them off to you, each time. (I had to start over to do that as she is fast.)

If you want to ADD a number to the list, PRESS # (pound key), then enter the number WITH the area code. Keep doing that until you have all the numbers you want to block on there.

Press 0 if you can't remember what she told you and she will start over.

Just hang up when you are done.

I hope this helps everyone!!!

Oh, this is how ATT (useless) posts the same instructions w/out telling you a lot:

  1. To block a designated phone number, press, (*60), press (#).
  2. Wait for the dial tone, and dial the first designated phone number you wish to block.
  3. Followed by the (#) .
  4. Repeat this process to add more phone numbers.
  5. To deactivate, press (*80 ).
    VERY CONFUSING!!!!
