Getting "BAD REQUEST" whenever I try to download Voicemail from ATT Server

A little more than 2 weeks ago I was able to download all my Voicemail messages to my hard drive. Now every time I try to download Voicemail messages I get a "BAD REQUEST" answer from ATT Server.

At first I used to get the error Pop-Up messaga that "ATT IS HAVING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. TRY AGAIN LATER" whenever I tried to download the Voicemail messages to my computer.

ATT sent out 3 Service Technicians and all 3 says the line is good and the problem is with ATT. I talked with ATT Tech Support and that person said, after about 1-2 hours talking on the telephone plus talking to the ATT Service Tech, that my computer is not compatible witth ATT and nothing they can do.

The Tech Support wanted me to install a obsolete non-Windows 10 compatible Apple Quicktime app that hasn't be updated since 2016. But I installed it with the same results as before. It would launch. So I uninstalled Quicktime again.

Yet my computer was compatible a little more than 2 weeks ago where I had been able to download my Voicemail messages to my PC since I first got ATT U-verse Home phone service.

By the way, I have a hearing disability which prevents me from HEARING or UNDERSTANDING voice messages on the telephone thus the reason for me to download the Voice messages. I can use my Headphones to listen to the downloaded Voice messages from ATT.

without any problems.

Has  anyone else have issues downloading Voicemail to their computers?

ATT needs to completely overhaul this system or fix these bugs.

I’ve tried to playback messages on both PC and Apple (which obviously has QuickTime) — It says it needs QuickTime— then never plays.

Then, as others have mentioned, when you try to download the message— It comes back with all sorts of errors.

Finally, I tried to forward a message to email, and once I tick the box to select the message/messages— The collapsible menu containing “forward to email” doesn’t stay open, when you navigate down to actually click on the menu item.

It doesn’t even let you click the button to three-step it and forward to an email.

Same thing on Windows/Mac. Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.

ATT is collecting payments from their customers and not providing the most basic of services offered.

This needs to be fixed ASAP

Well, it does work better than it used to.  When on a PC the Quicktime thing comes up, use the cancel and you will be able to hear the message after you download it (see my prior post).  Trouble being that this "download" page now gets you STUCK in a blank page and you CAN'T go back, you CAN'T start by loading in a new tab...so yes, they do need to revise this.  But I got a feeling that "they" as ATT do not actually OWN this service (note the IP HTTP address you are sent to).  Now, from 1.5 years ago till about 6 months ago, you COULDN'T even get this far.

I will and thanks for your input it has been really helpful. I hope the new line also clears my inability to download voicemail messages.

I totally agree with you about QuickTime. It is obsolete and is no longer being updated and does not work with Windows 10 OS.

I will definitely update this thread if the new line fixes everything.

The email messages method still works thankfully. Having said that, I find it absolutely shameful of AT&T to not be able to hear messages through the site for years and continue to have problems downloading messages that started earlier this year.

Pretty much the same as this post from a year ago. Closing topic to further posting.

The emailing messages method still works thankfully. Having said that I find it absolutely shameful on AT&T's part that messages haven't been able to be listened to through the site itself for years and the issue that arose with downloading messages that started earlier this year is still going on.
