Hi @gs454a,

You usually are able to keep the analog phone number, but there are situations when it may not work. The number has to be part of the rate center for your digital phone in your location. If you are not moving, usually, this is not a problem.

AT&T digital phone service is horrible. The service keeps going down. I spend too much time calling or chatting with AT&T representatives to get the phone back up and running. This past week has been the latest incident where service stopped. I spent numerous days and hours on the phone with no success. No one at AT&T knows what they are doing or how to handle their digital home phones. I have been transferred dozens of times to the wrong department or my call gets dropped all together. Do not leave your current landline service provider for AT&T, you will not be happy and to reconnect to your previous landline service provider is costly.

I've had their digital phone service since it was made avaliable and rarely have issues.

Admittedly, if my internet goes out, I'm without phone or UverseTV since all 3 are serviced from the gateway but in all these years I can count on one hand when that has happened.
