Wireless home phone not working due to 3G shutdown
AT&T has shut 3G down now and my wireless home service no longer works. I can find no information online about this service. The retail stores know nothing about wireless home phone service either. I logged into my account (which is different from other AT&T websites) and there is no information there either. What do I do now?

The replacement unit is an IFWA-40, which AT&T says they no longer sell. Many were sent out to people who had 3G devices evidently you were missed, or they had a limit.
See this topic and the links provided. Also, the escalation process if you need it.

@papawshouse When did you receive your first 3G Sunset notification?

jepherey; I made a call to a friend last Saturday night but instead of contacting the friend, I contacted AT&T. That was the first time I knew anything about my wireless home cell phone being on 3G cellular. I did NOT receive any notification and there were no notices or alerts on my AT&T prepaid account either. I never received any 3G sunset notification from AT&T. I have also discovered that a TracFone cell phone that is 4G also no longer works since the 3G signal is gone??

Just because your tracfone is 4g doesn't make it compatible. It must be 4G LTE and support voLTE.

Spoom2; Until now, the tracfone would show 4G LTE on the screen but not anymore. It also will not keep any signal showing. I would be glad to "call" them IF I had a working phone.. LOL I did receive an Email around noon today that noted the upcoming shipment of the IFWA-40. Thank You.

If it shows 4G LTE that doesn't mean it supports voLTE (voice over LTE) It's going to be a tracfone issue, you may have to borrow a phone to call them. Is your phone on this list?

spoom2; Nope, not on the list. I did do a network settings reset and the 4G LTE is back on the screen but still no calling. I may try to contact Tracfone tomorrow. I had looked up this Alcatel A574BL phone and it supports voLTE. Not sure what has happened but I will contact them as soon as I can. Thank you.

The 3G Sunset is reserved for customers with prior notice. Your experience more precisely aligns with AT&T's lesser-known 3G Solar Eclipse, which relies upon the promised IFWA-40 to restore your daylight just as abruptly as it disappeared.

@papawshouse if it supports voLTE than there maybe a setting to turn on voLTE. I know some Androids have such a setting.
