POTS being phased out in 2020???

My grandmother received a phone call telling her she needed to change her service because AT&T POTS is being phased out. The apartment complex provides community wifi so she cannot get internet calling. She has no other option but a cell phone and she does not get cell service inside her apartment. Is POTS being phased out and if so, what other options does she have?

at&t doesnt call and sayy to change, if there is a change it will be sent snail mail, this sounds like the typical scammer saying at&t is going away sign with us . theres was a 3rd party charter salesman came to my door and claimed uverse was going to cancel all customers in my area and charter would be my only option and to sign up today because my uverese would stop working that weekend, what he didnt know was i was a uverse crew manager at the time and when i showed my id he literally ran through my yard and up the street
