How do I get get my land line phone working - AT&T won't help

AT&T's service is reprehensible.

I have had a land line out for a week. I called four times. Each time I gave up after an hour (recording said a 15 minute wait, that was a lie). once I was offered the opportunity to leave my number and they would call me in 20minutes. They called in 25 minutes, apologized, told me I would be transferred to a short wait. Again I gave up after an additional hour wait. Four times I tried to access the online repair order method. Each time I ended up at an AT&T page saying they could not finish the transaction online,

("Please contact the repair center...We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please contact us at 1-800-288-2020.")

I would have to call the 800 number!! right. I really do not know what to do now. I cannot get thru by phone, the online repair order ends at a page saying I must call.

I guess complaints to the regulatory agencies, government?

Me too! It all started from the very first time I ordered service! 1) No one told me I had an “activation date” I thought I could just activate it when I bought my phone 2)Didn’t know I would just get a yellow envelope with a phone number to activate it 3) Call on that activation date and guess what? The number won’t activate it. 4) Talked to tech support said “ Oh you can’t activate it until 2:30pm” 5) Wait till 5pm to activate it, won’t activate! 6) call back and tech says it has not pushed through wait till MIDNIGHT 7) Try again talk to chat and guess what! A week later and still NO SERVICE! 8) Cancelled all service and went to Spectrum.
