CRL82312 Handsets registered to new (replacement) base showing “directory full” when adding contacts

I had to replace the base for a parent’s phone and was finally able to find directions to register the handsets to the new base.  BUT…I cannot add any contacts or speed-dial entries.  When attempting to add a contact, I get the error “Directory Full”.    When I try to add a speed-dial entry, I get “Not Avialable At This Time”.

Is there a way to completely wipe these phones to add contacts to the directory that the phone handsets think is full?  Hopefully someone has a solution!   Thanks!

You don't say if you have the manual for CRL82312 so I've provided a link. What happens when you try to review the directory or speed dial? You said you found a way to register the handsets to the new base, did you force a deregister of the handsets prior to registering using one of the methods found in this topic?

I do have the manual for the phone system.  When I try to review the directory or speed dial, it says “directory empty”.

I had to search quite a while when I first got the replacement base unit in order to find out how to de-register the handsets and register them to the new base.  Ever since doing that, the handsets now allow me receive calls, but caller-ID no longer works, and directory and speed dial cannot be used.

You can't use the register/deregister process in the manual since the handsets were registered to a different base. You need to use the process I gave you to force a deregister of the handsets from the old base, than you can register per the manual. Any handsets that came with the new base should already be registered.

I used Method #1 on the handsets to de-register and register to the new base.   I’ll try out one of the other methods and see if I get better results.

I deregistered all the handsets manually (like in your directions) because the old phone base burned out and literally lost all power.  So in comes the new base, manually deregistered handsets, place handsets on base unit to register and nothing happens.

Now, I just performed the same thing again - manually deregistered all handsets,  placed each on the base and none of them registers. smh

Are you getting a confirmation that they deregister?

Just do one until you know which one works.
